In 2025, the Application Driven Mathematics (ADM) research program officially returns and is now accepting applications for its second intake. The program welcomes undergraduate and graduate students, as well as university graduates (within five years of graduation) in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and related fields from universities in Vietnam and abroad.
The ADM program is part of VinBigdata’s ecosystem, aiming to foster young Vietnamese scientific talents while advancing research with practical applications. This six-month program provides participants with in-depth research experience and serves as a stepping stone for pursuing PhD programs at top global universities.
Participants of the program will receive:
- Full tuition sponsorship from Vingroup and financial support during the first phase
- Direct mentorship and advanced training from leading professors at prestigious global universities, including Prof. Vu Ha Van (Yale University, USA), Prof. Nguyen Huu Hoi (Ohio State University, USA), Prof. Ho Pham Minh Nhat (University of Texas at Austin, USA), Prof. Nguyen Hung Minh Tan (National University of Singapore), and Prof. Le Viet Hung (University of Massachusetts Amherst, USA)
- Opportunities to participate in large-scale scientific research projects and achieve international publications
- A pathway to apply for and secure PhD scholarships at leading global universities such as Yale University, Columbia University, University of Michigan, and the National University of Singapore
Program structure:
The six-month program consists of two phases. In Phase 1 (Summer School), participants receive intensive training from professors in Machine Learning, Combinatorics, Probability and Statistics, and Algorithms. In Phase 2 (Remote Mentorship), participants conduct research under the remote guidance of leading professors on selected research topics.
Highlights from the first intake:
The program attracted nearly 300 applications and achieved a remarkable milestone: 100% of participants who applied for PhD programs were admitted and received scholarships from prestigious universities, including Columbia University, Yale University, the University of Michigan, and the National University of Singapore.
